Mad Hatters and Gluten free Friday!!

Yay for Friday!!  my favourite day of the week :0)  Everyone collects their cakes and my Husband comes home for the weekend!!

The Mad Hatters tea Party cake has got to be one of my very favourites to date :0) I am just hoping it made it to it's destination safely!  I did remove the eyes for travelling, think they would have worked themselves loose otherwise!

And I must confess that today was my first batch of gluten free cakes made for a paying customer!!  All the others have been me experimenting, in the vain hope that someday I may just get an order :0) and yay hardwork paid off!!

And I arranged them in my 3rd cupcake bouquet :0)  Customer seemed very pleased when she collected just, which makes me feel great :0)  Don't you just love making something for someone when they truly seem to love the end result too :0)

The Bride visited her top tier yesterday and loved it :0)  Tears flowed and everyone was very happy,  I have now just got to finish the 100 matching cupcake toppers and get up at the break of dawn to bake the chocolate cupcakes for them to go on :0)

My youngest daughter and I went out geocaching again this afternoon, and having stomped through woods, trees' twigs, under growth and one very startled bunny! We were rewarded with another find :0)  Georgia took a pirate telescope this time and left a tube of bubbles in it's place :0)  And we have found a location for our own cache :0)

and just one last thing, a link to a great little peice written that is so very true :0) http://amylane.wordpress.com/2011/07/17/why-so-expensive/

Rain and Little People

So the plan had been to head off Geocaching again today but the rain put pay to that!  So we have made our own cache (well the girls have) whilst i finished off some modelling!  I have a kitchen full of little people looking at me!! some without eyes!!

We decided to make Sushi for our tea tonight :0)  The girls love making it and it killed some time on a rainy day :0)  very tasty and surprisingly filling we never quite manage to eat all that we make!!

On a happy note though my husband is home for the weekend tomorrow :0)  The week always feels to long without him around, we plan on introducing him to the joys of geocaching :0) and enlisting his help to find a suitable location to hide our cache :0)

I have finished Saturday's wedding cake, and I am really pleased with the top tier :0)

This will be sat on top of a 7 tier cupcake stand with matching cupcakes underneath! I am waiting for the Bride to come round now and have her final viewing before Saturday!  I must admit I always get a little nervous in case they don't like their cake!!  So i'm sitting here on tender hooks waiting!!

Anyway that's it for another day lots of cake pictures to share tomorrow :0)

Geo-Caching in the Summer Sun!!

So how had we never done this before today??  The caches we found, we have rode past on our bikes so many times it was amazing to find treasure indeed under our noses!!  We had of course taken along our rucksack with treasures to re-place those that we took, which the girls found equally exciting that the next person who came along may choose theirs!!  And we are now putting together our own cache and trying to think of somewhere amazing to hide it :0)  If you have not tried it I cannot recommend it highly enough!  Tomorrow morning we shall be off on our bikes again is search of more treasure :0)

So tonight I will be burning the midnight oil to finish off my cake orders for the week,  I have 2 wedding cake toppers to finish before the weekends, a giant castle cake, a mad hatters tea party cake and a beautiful Christening cake :0) plus cupcake bouquets and a box of birthday cakes :0) busy busy bee!
